Winter Restoration Project. bought new in 1968. Car is completely stock and has only 69,401 miles. have original bill of sale, Protecto Plate, and recall letters. Car has the fold-down rear seat, remote drivers mirror, power front disc brakes, power steering. Even has inflatable spare with original jack, etc. Glass is near perfect. Has not been on the road since 1983. Put 50K on car in first years while commuting to college and coming home for weekends. Then was stored years while was in Army. Interior is outstanding and looks like year old car. Even has original shoulder harnesses, console, Hurst shifter and ball. Car was stored inside since 1988. The 12 years in u-stor-it type place with high humidity and no air circulation rusted the sheet metal. Trunk, rear, and passenger floors solid, but drivers floor is soft. think frame is OK. Hood and bumper damaged when tow truck rear ended car on way to storage in 1988 (good 400 bumper included). Engine does not turn over. Rings probably rusted to cylinders. am afraid to force it with pry bar and score cylinders. Only needed solenoid (included) when quit driving it in 1983. Needs lot of body work, some engine work, but, when you're through, you will have an original numbers matching stock Firebird 400 with speed. This car has all the little stock parts that are nearly impossible to find. It has never been chopped up or modified. always thought that would get it back on the road, but life got in the way. I'm now in my 70's and don't have the energy or the money to do it right, so it's for sale for the first time in 51 years.
A non-refundable deposit of $500.00 is due at end of auction. Balance due in person in cash or cashier's check (which must clear my bank before car is released). Car to be pickup only. Sold as-is and where-is.
