1949 Harley WR Restored in excellent running condition img{max-width:100%} a.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:hover.imagelink {color:#0000FF;} a:visited.imagelink {color:#800080;} a.imagelink img.auctionimage border: 2px solid #0000FF; a:visited.imagelink img.auctionimage border: 2px solid #800080; In 1949 Harley made significant changes to the racing WRs.  This bike has the optional chromemoly frame and the new style rubber mount gas tanks.  The engine was also beefed up with thicker crankcases.  The bike was ridden by #26 Mel Goss from NH.  Engine rebuilt to factory specs.  Bottom end main bearings updated with spherical bearings. WR con-rods refreshed with oversize rollers and new wrist pin bushings.  Cylinders fitted with modern pistons. Flat shoe tappet and cams carried in new ball bearings. Oil pump gears fitted properly with new check valves and springs.   WICO single fire magneto gone through and produce hot sparks.   Special MR3 racing carburetor rebuilt and tuned.  Engine starts and runs perfectly.
     Special WR transmission has 14T short bottle neck gear.  All gears, shafts and forks in good shape all shimmed and spaced to specs.  
     WR narrow clutches have reproduction fiber and steel plates with correct narrow primary cover.
     Wheels are WR brakeless flat track spool hubs with original Firestone Sportsman tires.  There is no title and none will be provided.
