2003 Ducati Monster 620 Black
I bought this in fit of rage years ago after my own Monster 600 broke down again. decided wanted an EFI version to eradicate some of the fueling issues was having and saw this for sale and took punt. However before could get around to collecting the bike had tumble on my race bike and broke my collarbone so mate collected it for me and stored it as his place. took the opportunity of being off work and off the bike to restore my own 600 and so by the time could ride again was back in love with my old bike and this stayed gathering dust in my mates shed.
I finally collected it from him just before the lock-down with view to getting it MOT'd and sold.....I carried out service and changed the belts, the plugs, oil and filter. The bike had brake light fault so started by removing the lever switch only for friend to tell me that an intermittent brake light is common sign of failing battery on this generation Duc. bought new battery for it and low and behold the fault went....the only issue being that removing the switch from the front lever was too much for it to bear and it has disintegrated and will need replacement. I've seen them used at breakers for £25 but new universal one can be made to fit for £5-6. haven't been able to get out and get it MOT'd and so it is sold without....but have been over it and aside from the brake light switch see no issues why it should fail but am not tester........though it does have small plate......so maybe that might be an issue I'll look and see if was given full size one. It could do with new tyres and would have changed these but like say haven't been able to get out and it should pass with them as they are.
Good pointsRecent service with oil, filters, plugs and beltsPower commanderModified stock pipesStarts easily and runs wellHPI clearAftermarket seat with raised front to stop you sliding forward (I have spare stock one to swap if you are shorter rider and this concerns you)Aftermarket bar risers2 black keys and the important red oneLots of service history
Bad pointsCould do with new tyresNeeds front brake light switchPaint work is not perfect, dull with some scratches and previous colour showing through in couple of spotsNo MOTClocks changed in 2013 at 8300 miles (A new rider dropped the bike and broke the clocks. They replaced the internals which were broken but the clock housing shows the effects still)
Its really nice bike and do wish could keep it as it looks cool in the black and 620 will always be lot better than the 600....its also nicer riding position with the slightly raised front part of the seat.....but sadly it must go as need the space and already have 600 that have invested heavily in.
I appreciate that under the current circumstances it will be difficult to view the bike but can do an online viewing or send you videos of it running and most bike couriers are still operating. Have look at the pictures and ask any questions.....but please try and satisfy yourself as to what you are buying as have had to deal with plenty of idiots in the past who expected to ride home box of parts or arrived hours late and complained that they didn't think Newbury would be as far as it was.....like as if had moved the town since they last looked at map :) am open to offers and there should be make an offer function....but don't make silly offers....I am keen to get it gone and could do with the space and cash but am not giving it away and don't want to swap for anything.
With bit of work this will make nice bike to have for when the lock down ends....or even an investment to sell on after this is over at profit.
Any questions please ask.
