This is two-owner bike. purchased it from the originalowner June 2014. The bike had been in storage for about 30 years and had beeninside (and sometimes outside) with stuff stored on and around it (fortunately NorthernCalifornia weather is mostly kind to motorcycles). The original owner purchasedthe bike from HD Grants Pass Oregon in March 1975 (verified through HarleyDavidson Customer Service). When bought it the bike had 10,066 miles; it iscurrently at 10,672 miles. believe (and have no reason to doubt) the miles on the bike to be original. This is numbers matching motor, frame (C5) and title (in myname). The last pictures show the numbers on the frame and right case. The belly numbers match as well (175 041 062 bottom outside edge of left case and 175 041 062 on inside of left case above camshaft visible through front tappet block opening). The bike has all the original handle bar wires and controls and even the wire clips that go into the bars to hold the wires in place. There is one connector under the speedo-tach unit that is not original.Work paid for:Top end rebuild (RE Engineering, San Jose CA): Manleyvalves, Andrews valve seals, +0.10 pistons and rings, bronze guides, machineseats and lap valves, machine upper and lower collars for seals, honecylinders.Work performed:Assembled top end using Cometic gaskets. Front and rearlifter block gaskets are from James.New front and rear tires (and tubes): front ??“ Dunlop D401F90/90-19; rear Dunlop D402 MT90B16.Front brake (repair/replace): front brake line (completely blocked), mastercylinder/front brake switch assembly unit (would not pump up), master cylinderrebuild kit, front brake piston seal kit, master cylinder cap gasket, frontbrake lever.Rear brake (repair/replace): caliper assembly ??“ the rear caliper was frozenand had date code from 1976. purchased 1975-coded caliper (the finish isnot correct), and added the piston and seal kit. The bike hadbeen converted to forward controls using Hurst/Airheart unit (at the timethis was period modification for forward controls). With the rebuild addeda correct date-coded original rear brake master unit assembly as well as arebuild of the unit itself and an OEM brake line.Rebuilt the original Bendix carburetor, replaced themanifold seals and the air filter. It spits little through the carb when it is cold but goes away once the motor warms up.Inspected the transmission and replaced the needed gaskets(it shifts well and it should??¦at 10K it is barley broken in!).Replaced circuit breakers. The bike still has the original stator and voltage regulator. It is missing the boot over the solenoid. believe have correct one and will include that. It is bit faded as recall though.Replaced all the period aftermarket Hurst/Airheart forwardcontrol linkage and components with the correct OEM mid-control components(both the shifter side and the rear brake side) from my stash. The rubber on the controls are all Harley Davidson parts.Replaced rubber hoses and used crimp clamps that believeare correct.Replaced motor and transmission fluids. Replaced fork oiland fork seals. What is notfunctioning:Turn signals do not blink. The lights come on so it isprobably bad flasher unit (haven't checked it out because use hand signals). The high beam light (haven't inspected it because do notdrive it at night). The tripometer will not return to zero unless the knob is taken out of the housing and rotated by hand. inspected it and the cablehousing looked rusty. Even after cleaning and soaking it, it still does notfunction in the housing unit. The security alarm on the rear license plate. There is nokey to activate the alarm. inspected the unit and saw the capacitors for themercury switch had been cut. What is not OEM/NOS:Note: these are correct parts, but they were not purchasedfrom Harley Davidson. (And, don't think Harley Davidson sells any of theseparts for Shovelhead bikes  anymore).Front brake line, intake manifold seals, Bendixrebuild kit, air filter, front/rear master cylinder rebuild kits, piston forrear brake caliber, front/rear piston seals, Cometic top end gaskets, valves, seals, pistons and rings. What is not correctfor year model:Battery side cover, forwardfoot pegs. (Neither of these were an accessory offered in 1975 for this model.) The rear brake caliper does not have the correct finish. If someonesees something else that is not correct, please let me knowand will update my ad (even if do not agree with the assessment). In closing:The exhaust system is rather funky but it is correct for this year (last year this exhaust system was offered), as is the muffler (has the correct part number stamped on it). From the pictures anyone cansee that the paint, finish and chrome are not exactly to modern standards. There is very slight indentation on the top right center portion of the gas tank (not in pics due to 24-pic limit). Also (not in pics), there are two holes drilled in the rear fender adjacent to where the seat screw attaches to the rear fender. You do not see these when the seat is on. The prior owner had attached an odd aftermarket seat along with sissy bar that attached to the fender struts. Justa thought??¦ it can be only original ONCE, and this is why have tried to preserve it like it is, nice piece of Harley Davidson history.Maybe it is not the prettiest bike, but it is pretty close tocorrect. If the the forward controlsand battery cover are dropped, it would be difficult for some to tell that the bike is notin original condition. But that is for someone else to decide/ determine atthis point.I have receipts for the workdone on the motor as well as any parts purchased to try to get this back (asclose as could) to original condition. These receipts will also go with thepurchase of the bike. have photocopy of theoriginal title (from the original owner). It too will go with the sale of the bike.I have one original key as well as one replacement key (not original) that goes with the bike. The stuff from my stash isjust that, swap meet parts and take off parts (because someone wanted chrome)that traded labor for since the '70s and kept and stored because thoughtthat maybe could use them someday.I have around 200 pictures Ihave taken of this bike. These include disassembly, assembly, anti-theft codes,part-numbers and pictures in general that show the overall condition of thebike (bumps, chips and finish of paint and chrome). Ebay only allows 24 pics. If someone would like picture of somethingspecific, will do my best to accommodate your request. Please note: willnot email all the photos just because someone may ask! will have my wife assist me ingetting the winning bidder all the pictures have taken (I am not exactlycomputer literate). If have left something outof this, it is not for want. There are no warranties either expressed orimplied. will do my best to make myself available to the winning bidder withshipping but all costs associated with and all arrangements for shipping and handling are on the winning bidder.$500.00 deposit due within 48 hours of closing.
