1966 kombi split window, german built. imported the kombi from USA as daily driver in the states, that was registered to 2016.
This car hasn't been sitting in barn for 30 years, it has all the modifications which over the years has allowed it to keep on the road and be used.
The kombi has been lowered all round using drop spindles on the original front end, and has had swing axle conversion which uses beetle gearbox, giving better gear ratio, and lowers the rear end.
When brought it over it had big dollar stroker engine in it, which am keeping and have fitted running 1600 twin port engine with good clutch. Engine would need tune but runs well. Wiring loom throughout the kombi is in excellent condition. Wiring is set up for an alternator, the 1600 has generator, so would need to be modified to recharge the battery.
Kombi also comes with rear bumper, stereo, tacometer.
Rust needs to be fixed in the following places to be registered here, cargo floor needs panels replaced,sill on drivers side, doglegs look good except at the very bottoms, lower nose, lower cargo doors,rear end looks rust free but needs attention, jacking points, outriggers,around screens.Front floors look good and will include photo of rust areas soon. Main rust area is drivers sill and cargo floor.
Roof is rust free and very solid.
Kombi can be easily converted to RHD using new rack and pinion steering kit, or drive as is.
