This is rare car that was built in limited numbers in the second half of 61 only. Of 138,000 units sold by Cadillac in 61, only 3,756 of this car were made, compared to 15,500 Fleetwoods for the year.. Apparently built for rich old ladies with small parking spaces in their luxury apartments, these are well equipped luxury car. Due to it's rarity in the States it may be the only one of this type in Australia. Often known as Town Car, these are high end car with many features and it has mid green leather and brocade interior that matches the external metallic light green paint colour, this brocade is still available in the States and there is section of very good condition brocade on the rear of the front seat that can be used for matching purposes. Most metal surfaces inside the car are brushed aluminium, with chrome or stainless steel trims externally. All trims are with the car, this is totally complete car except for the air cleaner, though can probably source one. This car is not driver and will need total restoration. The mileage is fairly low, but condition of running gear, including transmission and engine is unknown, although the engine will not turn over. The transmission is the speed Hydra-Matic, and the engine is 325hp 390 cui. The car has areas of external 'sunburn' on panels with surface rust only in those areas. Otherwise external paint is thin and worn through to the undercoat in spots, but the steel is still protected and in good condition. Most of the red colour showing through the panels is not rust, but red oxide primer. The front guards and bonnet have each rusted through in small areas. Most of the red colour seen on the roof and bonnet is surface protecting layer that the sun has burnt on, it looks like there is original paint underneath, although full repaint will be needed. The guards and bonnet are quite repairable, or have source of replacement panels though they do not come with the car. As far as can tell the rocker panels are solid and so are the floors but haven't got hoist so it has not been subject to detailed inspection.

This is an absolutely complete example of rare car that has the potential to be worth big money when completed, given that some 59's are over 120 and still heading north. These will follow and like everything, the rarest models will go first. This car needs full restoration.
