Good:
It's basically good reliable old truck.Tough 2.8L Diesel 3L motor factory turbo kit (Originally 2.4 Turbo, but upgraded by the previous owner).5 speed manual.Had new bushes, ball joints and various bits and brake hoses replaced for RWC in January.Allegedly has done 25,000km approx since engine rebuild, new clutch with single mass flywheel, timing belt etc. No paperwork to prove.Mechanical injector pump, not the horrible electrnic one that cannot be tuned. 4x4 and low range all working fine. Factory electric hard/soft shocks still working!Runs well. Does not overheat. Does not use water. (Very important for this model.)Electric windows, mirrors, tailgate, power steer all fine.Good Coopers tyres on factory chrome wheels 5. 3 month old battery, six month old alternator.Turbo timer.Genuine toyota alloy bullbar. Towbar.No Rust!UHF 80 channel and Kenwood CD, USB, Bluetooth.230,000km on the clock may or may not be genuine?Eligible for Club Rego in Vic.
NOT SO GOOD:
Paint is scruffy faded, peeling clear-coat and it has some minor dents.I replaced the left guard with new one due to dent. You can see the difference in the photos. Still have the old guard which could be straightened and refitted.There is hole in rear guard with large grommet fitted when removed long-defunct Diesel-Gas (LPG) system.  Interior has some wear.It has minor oil leak under the turbo somewhere. have not figured out where it's coming from.Clutch thrust bearing makes some noise. Boost sensor is broken.  This causes red light on the dash to appear occasionally. It does not affect the running of the car at all.  Sunroof does not open. Suspect detached cable, fairly common Surf issue.Air Con has no gas in it. Assume it has leak! Essentially it has the usual wear and tear you would expect for car this age that has been used off road. 
I bought this Surf in January in Wagga Wagga from mate. It had sat in shed since 2012, but drove it home to Victoria on permit with no real issues. then serviced it and did all the work it needed for an RWC. I used it daily for few months before buying new car last week.
Happy to allow viewing and test drives locally.  I live between Bacchus Marsh and Ballan on the western highway, approx. 70km from the Melbourne CBD.  I will also take any photos you want as soon as weather permits
Collection available in Myrniong or Docklands/Melbourne CBD.  I will drive it to transport yard in Laverton or Port Melbourne for you if you want it shipped somewhere. If you want to drive it home will arrange one-way permit which is legal in all states except WA.If you do want it shipped overseas have contact that can help Iron Block Imports.  However, all shipping arrangements will be the responsibility of the buyer please contact me to discuss.
