Up for grabs here is 1992 Toyota Hilux Surf V6 conversion project that have lost motivation to complete.  This listing includes the Surf itself, including the original diesel motor (dead), auto transmission and transfer which originally came out of it, as well as a complete 3.8 litre V6 motor and auto gearbox out of VS Holden Commodore (commodore had done 265K klm).  There is also another transfer case out of manual 4-runner, as apparently the original Surf transfer wasn't compatible with the conversion adaptor for some reason.  The winning bidder is free to take as much or as little of the parts as they like.
I started this project probably around 10 years ago, and it has been sitting in storage ever since.  Basically everything should pretty much be there to either complete the V6 conversion, or restore the vehicle back to it's original diesel configuration, if you repaired or replaced the original diesel motor.  The only thing of note that am aware of which is not included is the turbo off the original diesel motor.
The project includes all of the various components from Marks 4WD Adaptors, required to complete the conversion, including the wiring loom adaptor, engine mounts, adaptor to join commodore auto gearbox to Surf transfer case, modified sump for the V6 motor, as well as some other various bits and pieces.  All up the conversion components alone cost over $2300, (receipts provided), and that was back in 2006, so would hate to think what the kit would be worth nowadays!
The Surf itself is in very straight condition, with the only body damage on the vehicle being small dent just beside the driver's side tail light, which as you can see from the photo is barely noticeable.  Otherwise all other panels, doors etc are perfectly straight, with just the usual clear coat peeling and paint fade which is standard for these vehicles.  All glass is intact, and the interior is really quite good condition.  Just needs good clean after sitting so long.  It has the original Recaro sports seats, which are in very good condition, except for the drivers seat which has some wear from getting in and out (see photo).  And the dash is cracked in number of places. The vehicle is fully optioned, including electric sunroof (with sliding cover), aircon, electric windows all round, central locking and electric mirrors.
I can not see any body rust anywhere on the vehicle.  Just some minor surface rust on few of the usual places on the chassis etc.  The vehicle itself only has 140K on the clock.  (had 107K on it when bought it in 2004)  It had never done any beach work in the time that had it.  All running gear etc was in perfect running order, and only commenced the V6 conversion after the motor died.  estimate that there is about 75% tread left on the tyres, including the spare which is the same alloy wheel as the other wheels on the vehicle, but different tyre style.
I am also throwing in workshop manuals to cover the Surf (Hilux/4-Runner manuals), and workshop manuals for commodore, just to cover the engine side of things.  There is also an owner's manual for the Surf, (...an actual english version), and the relevant instruction guides for all of the various Marks 4WD Conversion components.
Please see the photos as they make up a major part of the description.  am more than happy to answer any questions as best can, and can provide further photos of any other specific parts of the vehicle etc upon request.  Inspection is also welcome, and is in fact encouraged as don't want to get stuffed around by the winner showing up and then deciding it's not what they thought!  Vehicle is located at Prenzlau (about 25 minutes west of Ipswich on the Warrego Highway).  know it's probably fairly obvious, but just to clarify, the vehicle is not currently driveable!!!
The starting price for this listing does not even cover the cost of the conversion kit components, so grab yourself bargain and either finish the conversion, or put the vehicle back to it's original diesel configuration, or just use parts from this one to complete your own other project.  In any case, you can't go wrong at that price.  The vehicle is listed for sale elsewhere, so do reserve the right to end the listing early if bidding isn't going well.
Thanks for looking.
