80 Series GXL Landcruiser 1993 Dual Fuel 1FZ-FE FZJ80R Manual
Suspected Head Gasket or Cracked HeadVehicle running great up until week ago. Started it up and started blowing white smoke from exhaust. Not overheating, no loss of power, idling ok. Radiator bubbling slightly when cap is off, milky residue under oil cap. Vehicle only ran few times since to try and diagnose and fix problem. Mechanic agrees likely head gasket or cracked head. (just looking, without pulling apart)Used JB Weld in radiator to try and fix it. Seemed to help, definately less smoke and idling even better. Still not overheating or loss of power, but still not right!
Reason for saleI have been doing the vehicle up before this happened to sell it as don't really use it much, especially for offroad use. Only back and forth to work (2kms away) and sometimes for camping.Unfortunately this happened week ago. Rego was due yesterday (27/6/21) so months until blue slip needed. Would suit someone who knows bit about these vehicles and might want to fix this problem or even swap out motor. I'm not much of mechanic. It has good straight body, not flogged offroad, very clean inside and lots of extras and work done in past 12 months. It's great vehicle, I've had it for years. Just unfortunate that this has happened as was going to sell it in good condition. Would definately keep it if could do engine work myself or if used it lot!

ProblemsSuspected head gasket or cracked head issue. (as detailed above)Speedo not working, everything else in dash cluster works fine. Estimated $300 to fix. Have registered vehicle without speedo working twice with no problems. Digital speedo works great.Gas works fine. Vehicle just needs to be warm for convertor to work properly. Details on paperwork.AC needs regassing, worked great before this. Some rust in usual spots around rear and windscreen sills. Can send photos.Fuel latch bracket has slightly bent, so cable can sometimes come away from it. It's easy to get to and fix, but bracket needs to be straightened to permanently fix. Easy to undo fuel latch by opening compartment in rear cabin and pressing cable attachment there.
That's everything can think of. Any other questions please feel free to get in touch with me. It's great vehicle, I've had it for years. Just unfortunate that this has happened as was going to sell it in good condition. Would definately keep it if could do engine work myself or if used it lot!
