An original and genuine 1974 HQ Sandman Van.
The HJ was not Holden's first go at the Sandman..
The first and original version, the HQ, was built in very limited volume from January to September in 1974. 
No more than 100 HQ Sandman vans were produced during this period. 
Manufactured 02/74, this HQ Sandman van is an absolute rarity, and one of only few left of the approx 100 HQ Sandman vans manufactured in this year.
The vehicle's VIN: 8M70DDH264806Q indicates it is GMH Holden, Belmont, Panel Van, Manufactured 1974 with 173 High Compression Engine, assembled at Brisbane, Series Code Q, HQ7/71. 
All HQ Sandman vans were based on the entry level Belmont because Holden didn't offer Kingswood-spec van, but Sandman utes could derive from either the Belmont or the marginally better-specified Kingswood. 
This vehicle is in need of full restoration.
The vehicle does have rust, but is definitely repairable. 
All original matching tags are in place on the vehicle.
The van will be supplied with GTS guards, wheels,and wheel trims, steering wheel, dash (as in photo in other vehicle), 173 engine, Aussie speed, and is fitted with V8 ten bolt diff. 
Please note that the motor is NOT original.
