This particular car benefitted from repaint at some stage of its life, in its original colour. The paintwork could do with cut and polish as it has aged little, and there are the odd scratches and chips here and there, but nothing major and absolutely not spot of rust. The left side lower sill has dent in it, but its not too serious. The brightwork is in exceptional condition. All of the chrome looks as new, the only fault being with spot on the rear bumper. Other than that you can't fault the chrome. The original chrome wheels and hubcaps are in superb condition.
Mechanically the car is very sound with $6,000 recently spent on reconditioning one of the dual cylinder heads, and both SU carbs being completely rebuilt. A new water pump was fitted and the Engine Control unit replaced. The motor is smooth, quiet and powerful. The original Automatic drivetrain is still intact and in good condition.
The interior is 100% original and untouched. The dashboard has two cracks, and the wood veneer looks pretty good, although the varnish has dried out bit. All the gauges and switches are original and work. The original radio/cassette player is still fitted, with its corresponding manual in the pouch with all of the other delivery books! The leather on the seats could do with good scrub and leather treat, but the patina is great. There is small tear on the rear seat and the headrests have lost bit of their shape. The rear parcel tray is immaculate with the original speakers in place. The carpets are still original and only show signs of wear on the drivers side. The door panels are all good and in fairly good shape. The headlining is original and in good shape.
This is very original and sound survivor car. Everything is as it was the day it left the factory. There is NO RUST, and the minor faults with the car are all part of its originality and patina. The early V12 Jags are fast becoming collectable, especially the carburettor versions. The Series are also much better looking and sorted than the early Series cars.
