1968 Genuine XTGT. Has been in family for 20 years, my mums car. 80-90k spent. Body restoration rotisserie rebuild in 2006 not sign of rust, 30k alone spent on body restore with receipts for all work done. Rustproofed by panel beater with tectyl and sourced an old school panel beater to complete works. Spent 2.5 years in panel shop... he was not in too much of rush to finish... did not intend to spend so much but my mum owned this car and was only being driven twice year, the rust in the sills and doglegs and bottom of doors was disgrace to see GT in that condition. The interior seats have not been touched. The original steering wheel was broken and lost over the 11 year rebuild. speed toploader. Diff 3.0 as original but TruTrac LSD was installed, as she drove the car for many years with no oil in it had lot of play and diff shop replaced with new. wheel bearings replaced also. This car was literally driven into the ground and all components have been replaced. Springs shocks all front end parts brake lines, entire brake system overhaul but original. The 4v heads are gone, had them but sent them to get reco and the engine builder told me they were too far gone and would give me problems so edelbrock heads quickfuel 600 carby MSD dizzy electronic and MSD coil, Cam. Around 12k Spent on engine. Fully balanced pistons within 1g tolerance... reliable engine only run on BP98. Again spent 5k more than what wanted. engine was rebuilt 1.5 years ago and only done about 600klm since. Engine builder keeps pretty quiet about what he uses in the engines and does not give away secrets but has written down all parts and items used in my engine and keeps on file for his records. He builds race engines for few people know and only uses quality parts. Dash has been replaced with another GT dash, still have the original but did not want to send it away and risk it. Compliance plate comes with car of corse. Not stone chip on it has been travelled with car trailer everywhere with moving pads and shrink wrap. sourced original sterio but its AM so has never been setup and just installed for looks. for those that are picky would get new window regulators all about $550, Door Trimsx4 $700 and couple of minor bits and pieces, sunvisors door handles door cups, new winders and this would be new car. have not replaced them because they are still in ok condition and they work. Note: the dash was replaced and had an issue with the voltage regualator so the oil guage works, the temp guage works, the fuel guage does not work although replaced the fuel sender, this might be an issue with the guage, the tacho is not connected so installed race tacho under the dash in an existing hole, The speedo has been disconnected as assume over time it has worn and if kept the speedo cable connected it could cause damage. use the taco to guage my speed. All guages worked with the voltage regulator had installed but there was an issue afterwards that changed the voltage reg and only half the guages work now, but after 3k on auto electric and not wanting to pull the dash out again, make do with what have. The Tyres have been on this vehicle since 2002 and would absolutely not recommend driving big distances on them. 14 inch rims are hard to get tyres for now so rims and tyres are must but im not buying set of 15s for the amount of driving do in it. check email every now and then but for convenience contact me on ::  Zero zero Four 81 29 six.
There will not be any driving of this car by anyone. We can go for drive together but will be clear, will be the only one driving, im sorry but trust no one with GT have spent so much on and has caused me so much pain restoring, and as rare as they are, this car has lot of power and in the wrong hands is risk cant take. am aware the GT of choice is the XY but this XT really is beautiful example of GT.

Reserve is set and the reserve is the market value of this car. Paint, Trim, Gearbox and everything listed on the compliance plate matches the car. Ford authentication letter have somewhere and listed was the only optional extras fitted were front seat belts. NO rear seatbelts. Everything from this GT is in its original form apart from the heads, the bottom end is from the original car. This resto has been done properly as my attitude is, do my research, find the right people to do the work, pay the money to do it properly as saving few bucks always bites you on the a$$. There is nothing to hide with this car. built it to keep it however my situation has changed.

I live couple of hundred klm inland from Rockhamton so if you want to have look we will have to work something out. will not be giving my location out willy nilly. dont want to waste anyones time and am honest and upfront, if the winning bidder turns up to collect the car and something have not mentioned is not listed here, there will be no obligation to buy. This is very nice honest car and will regret parting with it.
