Up for auction is 1983 KTM 495.
Sold as project bike.
Engine has had piston failure. Will need piston kit and rebore currently 92mm.
May also have cracked sleeve (see photo).
Big end up and down feels good, head undamaged.
Would recommend cases to be flushed.
Clutch works, gears select.
Rims have cracks, look repairable.
Alloy muffler has broken bracket.
Plastics pretty average, broken tail light lens.
That's most of the bad news.
The good news, It's rare KTM 495!
Perfect base for resto. or convert to pre '85 M.X. weapon.
These big bore strokes are rapidly increasing in value, don't miss this one!
