Triumph Hurricane X75.Matching numbers TRX 75-XH1932.Manufactured month on the date is wrong, couldn't be stuffed looking up the month and it won't delete.
Believed to be one of only 26 Australian delivered and 360 in total: 400 BSA Rockets 3's were allocated but due to U.S.A. noise restrictions, only 360 (aprox') in total were built. This is genuine X75, not converted A75, everything bar the tyres which are repro K81's and front brake cable is original right down to the clamp on fuel lines, the Phillips head screws, the sand cast marks on the engine covers and never been cracked yokes, choke is still there and works, just not sure about the paint as it looks too good but then it only has 4,650 original miles on it. It is 100% complete except for one sticker off the top cap on one fork leg which blew off and the adhesive isn't great on the other one (repro one's are on ebay). It took me three knock backs and 44 years to get this bike and now have arthritis, carpel tunnel and RSI which makes the drum front brake and clutch painful to use, could install disc font end and know for sure can lighten the clutch up as it still has the factory fitted cable and the clutches were never set up properly but I'd rather leave it stock. was going to buy all the reproduction parts available and put the originals away and put the bike on historic rego but didn't plan to swap out anything for non stock parts: didn't buy it to sit in my garage but unfortunately that looks like its fate unless someone buys it, hence it is unregistered but will pass any inspection and if you know what you're doing, it starts first kick.
The reserve is high but fair and is the lowest I'll accept and is not negotiable or will divulge it, just hit it with your best bid and see what happens. These will be worth over double my price in another 20 years and if not sold will be left to my grandson: I'm quite happy to look at it but it's frustrating not being able to ride it.There are old adds still visible online from years ago: those bikes are long gone.
No you can't test ride it, it is unregistered and not insured: the only way I'll agree is if you pay for it first then take it up the street and back, if you don't want it and haven't damaged it I'll refund your money minus hire fee for riding one of the worlds most desirable collector bikes.
Inspection at Oran Park by appointment.Message on here only, will not give out my phone number as whenever do, no one calls.I can not stop anyone making an offer but have the right to accept or refuse, same goes for trades or swaps: I'm really not interested unless it favours me big time as I'd only sell whatever it is and the last thing need is something else to sell.Cash is preferred, if you wish to pay via bank cheque then the funds must be cleared before the bike is released... bank cheque can be cancelled. Paypal is not an option as the fees are too high and don't trust the chance of chargeback. If you need to use credit card then get the cash out.On 22-Oct-17 at 16:53:58 AEDST, seller added the following information:Just got this message, no idea myself, can only go on the information got back in the day and what I've read.
FYI, there were imported into Australia in 1973. 1200 were built in total. purchased in Sacramento California in 1993 for $13,000.00. Frank Musset in Brunswick in Melbourne had only delivered. Jim Eade in Sydney also had one. Cheers
