Yamaha IT490. Unfinished Project. Need to clear out garage for house renovations..This motorcycle may be suitable for parts or restoration.Missing few minor partssuch as speedo, blinkers, tail light and spark-arrestor tailpipe cap. May be other partsmissing that I’ve forgotten. Ignition switch may be missing.Bike was going at time of dismantling. Was missing 3rdgear sometimes while riding, and frame was going to be repainted while gears were being fixed. I thinkmechanic said there was broken bearing retainer plate and 3rd and5th gear ‘dogs’ on the output shaft were slightly rounded and shouldbe replaced. He also noted wear on of the gearbox shift forks. Kick starter spring is broken. Please see photo's.Plastics are consistent with age of bike, with wear and splits.Tank is not split and still held fuel when last used, though with all oldplastic tanks there is no guarantee they will not split the next time you usethem.Mechanic informs me bike will need rear suspension bushes, chain and sprockets andair filter. am not mechanic and can only pass on what was told. There maybe other things am not aware of. There appears to be poor repair to theclutch crankcase cover, though it did not leak. Please see photo's.As can be seen in photo's, bike will require another rear guard. This is 33 year old motorcycle. Condition and wear is consistentwith its age.
