It could be defined as an automobile in its most elemental form – engine, transmission, differential, four wheels and tires, seat, controls and gauges for the driver and another seat for one passenger. Most hot rodders know it as Ford T-Bucket. We are selling this for local friend who is very experienced builder and builds these hot rods at very attractive price point! This T-Bucket is titled as 1923 Ford convertible on clean and clear Missouri title with Missouri State assigned vin number and able to be transferred to all 50 States.

This example was freshly built last year and is dressed in ever-stylish black. The build consisted of all new parts and is ready to go! This T-Bucket replica’s paint and trim are in excellent order and contrast perfectly with the new set of American Racing wheels.

The windshield is clear and intact, the lights are haze-free and look great while the T-Bucket has straight and solid body. The engine bay is extremely fresh and tidy.

This T-Bucket rolls on BFGoodrich Radial T/A, size 155/80R15 in front and Scrambler A/R Futura radials, size 265/70R17 in back. Each tire is mounted to five-spoke chrome American Racing wheels with center spinners.

Ahead of the firewall is new 330 HP Chevy crate 350 CID Chevrolet small block V-8 engine, complete with electric radiator cooling fan. Backing this motor is new TCI Streetfighter th350 three-speed automatic transmission and posi traction Ford nine-inch rear differential. Driver convenience features include four-wheel disc brakes with 11-inch rotors, tilt steering column and center high-mounted stoplight (CHMSL).

Inside, the bucket seats within this T-Bucket are in excellent shape and are ready for jaunt. The matching black carpet is in similar shape. three-spoke aftermarket steering wheel is in great shape. The instrument panel with full slate of gauges and patterned backdrop, looks fantastic. floor-mounted gearshift completes the interior.

Model Ts were hot-rodded and customized from the 1920s on, but the T-bucket was specifically created and named by Norm Grabowski in the 1950s. This car was named Lightning Bug, better known as the Kookie Kar, after being redesigned by Grabowski and appearing in the TV show 77 Sunset Strip, driven by character Gerald “Kookie” Kookson III. The exposure it gained led to numerous copies being built.

A genuine T-bucket has the two-seater body of Model roadster (with or without the turtle deck or small pickup box), this “bucket”-shaped body shell giving the cars their name. Model T-style radiator is usually fitted, and even these can sometimes be barely up to the task of cooling the large engines fitted. Windshields, when fitted, are vertical glass like the original Model T.

Today, T-buckets remain common. They generally feature an enormous engine for the size and weight of the car, generally V-8, along with tough drivetrains to handle the power and large rear tires to apply that power to the road. The front wheels are often much narrower than the rear wheels and are often motorcycle wheels.

Since the last Model Ts were built in 1927, most modern T-buckets use replica fiberglass bodies. By the 1950s, original steel Model bodies that had not been completely worn out were becoming increasingly hard to find and in 1957 the first fiberglass T-Bucket body (based on the 1923 version) was introduced by the short-lived Diablo Speed Shop in Northern California. Of the only two or three bodies built by Diablo, one was purchased by Southern California hot rod builder Buzz Pitzen and became the world’s first fiberglass T-bucket.

Documentation includes parts invoices related to the build.
