1961 GMC PICKUP THAT IS PRETTY COOL AND DIFFERENT THAN ALL THE CHEVY'S OUT THERE!This was one family owned truck. The Grandpa bought the truck new and then gave it to his grandson when he graduated high school in 1972. The grandson resisted the temptation to modify it from original except to put dual exhaust and glass packs on it. After starting family the truck had sat for several years. Now grandfather himself, he started to bring the truck back to the condition he received it in all those years ago. Just as he was getting started, he passed. That has been just over years ago now.He had put new tires on it. They have never turned mile and they have been inside, so they are not dry rotted. He also had bought new gas tank with new sending unit, new fuel pump, and rebuilt the original Holley one barrel carb. It looks like he started going through everything to get it road worthy.The body is in crazy good condition and never been wrecked, even the tailgate is straight! took pictures of the rusted areas which is very minimal. am body man/painter and would not buy any panels for it. would just weld new metal patches in the rusted areas. You could also just leave it as is with the great patina it has. The underbody and frame just has surface rust. It is factory Turquoise truck. It will need new wood bed. also have the original rear bumper.The original V6 engine turned over freely when stuck battery in it. The spark plug wires, plugs, dist. cap and rotor along with condenser should be replaced before trying to fire it up. will do this if it doesn't sell in week. The master/clutch cylinder is leaking and would replace it and go through all the brakes.This is cool truck and one you don't see every day. Lots of Chevys running around, not so many GMC's, most of them were worked to death (not this one)! You could get it running and drive it as is, or drop in V8 with auto trans (has factory on the tree now) or LS it.Call with questions.
