Completely restored ’74 Thing. Everything that wears out is new: Paint, tires, carbs, seals, top, upholstery, brakes, clutch. Solid amateur restoration (experience with previous Things). Engine overhauled (enlarged pistons and cans for 1650? Ccs, extra valve lift, electronic distributor, electric fuel pump, dual 34 PICTs). Wood trim added to make it distinctive, give it the Kuebelwagen feel. Runs great. No rust; car was completely disassembled (as in, every removable piece), cleaned up and cleared of rust, painted and put back together. It was ragged at the beginning, so it carries some Bondo, but it’s hard to find. Runs great. No windows (I have set of frames with trashed windows, yours if you want them). No heating system. Radio/stereo with four speakers. Ready to drive and show. Prize winner in regional VW show.
