The truck has plenty of things that for that “take right down that path” moment real off road machine. Things like manual locking hubs, two solid axles, central locking differential, full time wheel drive, four wheel disc brakes and the 2.5’ lift it’s almost unstoppable. The aftermarket world also has endless options of quality made products for this model of Cruiser should you want to really make it an off road machine. For being 1991 and there are some rock chips and other road wear and regular wear and tear on the truck, the pictures will clearly show; some surface rust on the right rear corner of the hatch, on the rear fixed windows, the rockers have some rust as well, some on the lower lip of few doors. Again the pictures should clearly show these few flaws.But for being 25 years old this truck is in great shape and is just so clean both inside and out, the pictures show all the imperfections. Taking look at the photos of the belly of this beast you might notice this truck has been rust treated with ZieBart’s rust preventive no drip oil based coating and will really protect your investment from road grime such as salt or other deposits left on the road. The bonnet (or hood) of the truck, matching the roof, roof is quite sun faded, does have sun fading and some clear coat missing common in these trucks. Notable though is that the truck has not been painted and shows its original nature. This truck is Right Hand Drive. All the in cab controls are functioning. The drivers side window is quite slow going up and down, the passenger is better and the rear windows are in great shape. Bolted Behind the 4.2L motor is Toyota’s A442F heavy duty full time four wheel drive speed transmission, and these two are the heart and power plant of this truck. The transmission is smooth shifting and has no notable problems. In the colder weather on cold start there is some white smoke from the tail pipe but clears up close to running temperature is achieved, this is quite normal for diesels other then that no notable problems with the driveline. the fuel economy has been calculated to approximately 22mpg, that does all depend on how heavy your right foot is though. quick run down of the needs improvment parts of this truck, Sun faded roof, hood has patches of missing clear coat and on the rear fixed windows have patches of surface rust, the rockers and under door have some rust as well, small patch of rust on the right lower corner of the lift gate.
