Overview:We have for auction 1965 Ford F-100Long Box Fleetside with 240 CI straight six and three speed on thecolumn. This is straight truck that looks equally at home at carshow or on the street. The truck came from Western Canada (Alberta)and what little rust it had was professionally repaired by its ownerwho was licensed bodyman. The interior needs few finishingtouches such as carpet and head liner, but the paint inside is asnice as the outside. For that custom look, it has very well done airbrush work on both doors. Details:Body: The truck was painted 8years ago and coming from Alberta had very little rust. The rustrepair on the vehicle consisted of two small patches on the exteriorof the vehicle (fender bottoms) and approx six more on the underside. The radiator support and the tailgate were replaced during theprocess as well. The chrome is there for the cab but the box chromeis missing. Overall, the body work on the truck is very well done, and properly cared for, it will look the same for years to come. Mechanical: The truck hasstandard steering and brakes. For better stopping the front brakeshave been updated to disc. As well, the front pads, rotors andcalipers have been recently replaced. The rear brakes have been goneover getting new drums, shoes, wheel cylinders and emergency brakecables. The 240 engine has had the carburetor and starter replaced, and true to their reputation is stone reliable. Rear tires and shockshave been replaced, front tires are good. It would appear that at onetime the truck had been speed on the floor and converted to 3speed on the column. Interior:The interior has had the bench seat recovered to match the exteriorand the front door panels replaced. For finishing the interior needsa headliner and carpeting. The Bad:The engine uses some oil and needs to be topped up occasionally. There is some rust and small hole on the inside of the box where itmeets the wheel wells (see picture). The truck has about half adozen rock chips on the front nose and also has the normal rock chipsaround the wheel openings from the tires. Our Assessment:This is 52 year old truck. It is in good shape, but it is not aconcours vehicle with rotisserie restoration. The body, while invery good shape, has normal wear and tear for vehicle painted 8years ago and seasonally driven since then. The pictures are veryaccurate, what you see is what you get. This would be an ideal truckfor person who wants vehicle to drive, enjoy and do littlefinishing to.
