1956 Triumph 500cc T100 Tiger

The sports version of Edward Turner's trend-setting Speed Twin, the Tiger 100 was launched in 1938, reappearing in 1946 with telescopic forks in place of the original girders, and separate dynamo and magneto. An alloy cylinder head and barrel were adopted for 1951, these and other engine improvements boosting power, while swinging-arm frame and 8"-diameter front brake were fitted from 1954 onwards.

lighter and smoother motorcycle, the 500cc Triumph T100 was bargain for the enthusiast with riding his investment in mind. With practically the same power as the big brother 650s, but in lighter more nimble package, these are blast to ride, and ride anywhere.

The bike offered here was the subject of ground-up restoration in the hands of marque expert, Dean Collinson. have had numerous bikes from Dean, and his knowledge and abilities are truly unsurpassed. He knows exactly how to make these machines run well, and for long time. Starting with full engine rebuild, Dean refreshed all the engine??™s internals from the crank up. Attention was then given to the gearbox, clutch and all the cycle parts, refurbishing or replacing them as needed.

Mechanically, the bike is in excellent condition. The engine starts easily, idles well and has good, responsive power. The bike shifts well through all gears with good clutch. Brakes, and suspension all work perfectly, as do the electrical systems.

The bike is as good cosmetically as it rides. It has held up well since the full restoration in 2012, having covered very few miles since.

This is an excellent example of piece of British motorcycling iconic history, offered in truly excellent condition and ready to ride anywhere.
