2 primer kicks with the choke on and distributer retarded (ignition off), open the choke fully, crack the throttle 3/4 of the way and with one kick this Pan fired to life recently and idled smoothly. 
Driving 10 miles stopping for 45 minutes, returned to the Pan  the choke throttle were left alone. Retarded the distributer 3/4 of the way, turned the key, kicked it over and it again fired to life. Pretty fricken sweet!This Hydro/DuoGlide shifts smoothly and handled well at the 55 mph running speed going home.

Top end completed 3/17/2017. Plenty of meat left to Standard cylindersCylinders were cross-hatched honedGuides were left alone, valves/valve seats were refaced leaving enough meat for one more reface!
In addition upon assembling found or did....  (3) base studs were replaced with new and couple of new nuts used. (balance of new studs are included with sale)STD NOS Rings were fitted to the pistons Wrist pins tight and no side play for rodsJames Gaskets kit usedReplaced rubber seals in oil lines Spares includedOil pump bearing ball and spring were replaced Spare oil pump bearings includedNew HD 6V battery filled with acid and placed on trickle charge50 weight HD oil bought same day Heads/Cylinders were picked up.
What else about the Panhead?A re-paint was done in the early 70's in the Maroon/Birch White shown. It has normal scratches or small chips after 40 years, looks nice, shines up well with decent patina.Bubble bags were painted to match the fendersand tanks. The front fender tip is not original for thatyear. The red insert, makes nice effect and may be one of the fewitems on this bike that are not original for 1958.Carb was replaced with rebuilt/model correct. The bike was re-wired using an original style loom to includespotlight/turn signalsPrio owner installed OEM Master Cylinder,  rear brake cylinder and brake hose.New Cloth brake and clutch CablesRebuilt ignition switchReplaced the tires with NEW Coker, Super Eagle Tread tires andtubesSpeedometer done by Bordas replacing the glass pane with RAREoriginal HD Red GlassReplaced the front fork oilNew front/rear chainsReplaced the footboard mats with OEM original partsFront and rear hubs gone thruInstalled Center StandTrued the front and rear wheelsIn addition:1.
