bought this over the phone from the late Andy Pelc, Detroit area BMW dealer in October, 1994 after my brother in law saw it. The original owner was an engineer at Ford. Pelc told me he stored it in his living room when not riding it which irritated the hell out of his wife. She lost no time selling it to Pelc after his passing. eventually picked it up, with 7,700 miles on the odometer, at which time Dover 69S w/ OEM spotlights was on display for sale which Pelc offered me in exchange which turned down. I've had the same 69S for more than 45 years and in my opinion the '68 bought is among the best /2 series BMW ever built. 23 years later I've put another 4,000 miles tooling around my neighborhood. The Heinrich fairing, knee shield, Meier tank and grille, all in tip top shape came from the Honorable Evan Bell at Irv Seaver in Orange. Excellent repro fairing supports from Christopher Betjemann. 2nd set of tires nearly new larger Metzlers. New Blitz battery. Complete stainless exhaust and resealed OEM petcock from Benchmark. Matching #'s. RH mirror bit loose but seems to maintain position. Small LH tank dent under handlebars. Both keys present. Lots of nicks on the frame. Used to have rear cases Buco's?) which Pelc had taken off prior to sale. Shock adjusters broken to accomodate the installation. If adjusting rear shocks is important, best to pass on bidding. Motorcycle starts easily and is in excellent overall condition for 50 year old BMW. Covered transporters pass by weekly within few blocks going to the Benz and Ferrari dealers. I'm selling because Miami is an ugly and dangerous place to ride, especially now that 10,000 uninsured ubers have been flushed onto the streets. At 70 years of age, no longer feel safe riding. If it sells, wire only. No cash. Prospective buyers w/ little Bay history will be suspect.
