In September of 1968, Honda began selling its first Mini Trails built for the American market. Production ran until March of 1969 that first year. It is one of the very rare early production Z50A models produced and one of the first in the United States. Almost impossible to find in any condition. This Scarlet Red/IvoryWhite Z50 was restored to an extremely high degree approximately years ago by an acknowledged Mini Trail expert in the Chicagoland area. This motorcycle has been part of my collection of Honda 50s for a while even before it was restored, but it’s time to sell few. The machine needs absolutely nothing to run and ride around the pits or the neighborhood this season. Or just be on display in the house or office. also have 1968 Bright Yellow/Ivory White Z50A I will be selling as well, so if you'd like both colors, let me know!  Please scroll down past the description to see all of the photos and be sure to check out some of the original Honda material.    Everything on the machine is restored the way it was delivered from the Honda factory. The paint was done in the correct and authentic factory colors, as was the seat, with all of the factory stitching. The engine is original to the frame, and is exactly the way it was when it was delivered from the factory.  As you can see from the photos in the photo section as well as the body of the description, it is nearly flawless AND historically correct restoration, with every piece and part either restored to look as new or N.O.S. The condition is exactly what it looks like in the photos, and the best part is, this Z50 runs and rides as all of the mechanicals were restored to mirror original factory specifications.
As far as the running condition of the 50, it was run when the engine was completed from different gas tank and the original carburetor cleaned and re-installed afterwards. The original tank was then re-installed and there has been no gas in the tank. Since then, the bike was placed on display in my office, where it is now. If the new buyer would like running motorcycle, I'm happy to get it running before it is picked up or shipped.  If you'd like any additional photos of any particular part of the motorcycle, please let me know. I’m happy to email or text it to you. And if you would like to inspect the bike or ask any questions, please email or contact me by phone or text at 630-430-3855 anytime.  I have motorcycle collection made up of quite few Honda 50s, including Monkeys, Mini Trails, and Soft Tails, including other JDM, German, and American models. Many of them will be coming up for sale along with some of my American, Italian, and Japanese big bore motorcycles. If you have specific questions, just want to learn more, or are looking for something in particular, please let me know. I’m also always looking for other vintage motorcycles to add to my collection, so if you have something interesting to share, please contact me at 630-430-3855.
