1971 BSA Lightning A65L 650cc


Up for auction is 1971 BSA A65L Lightning that has spent most of its 45 years of existence in storage or on display.  The odometer shows just 615 miles!  Approximately 10 years ago the bike received minor restoration.  The rims and spokes were refurbished.  The tank was sealed and the rear shocks were replaced with non original units.  Overall, this BSA appears to be very original.  It was recently pulled from an extended hibernation.  I was able to start it, hop on, and take it down the road (what blast!) but the dual carburetors will need to be cleaned and synced.  The tires are adequate for display purposes, but will need to be replaced if you plan to ride the bike any distance. The headlight (low and high beam) turn signals, and tail light work.  The tachometer, speedometer, odometer and tripometer also function!
