Beautiful 1971 Yamaha 250 DT1 that has been part of my private collection for the past several years. Numbers matching on engine, frame, and Federal label (DT1F-27324). The bike starts easily, idles smoothly at about 1500 rpm, and pulls well all the way through the 7500 rpm redline. Engine sounds very quiet, tight, and has no piston slap or rattling noises. Autolube oil lubrication system works properly, no mixing of oil with gas required. Transmission shifts into and out of all gears properly. Horn works, headlight (high and low beam) lights up correctly, as do the tail lamp, stop lamp, and turn signals. brand new battery was installed this week. Chain and sprockets are clean and show minimal wear. Front and rear suspension and brakes all appear to be in excellent condition and operate smoothly, no leaks or damage. Front tire is the original Dunlop Trial Sport, rear tire is new, replaced due to age cracks in the original after sitting flat for years. Exhaust pipe is solid, no dents, holes, or rust, and the baffle remains installed. All cables and controls work smoothly. Both gauges are working, speedometer displays 1,370 miles. Gas and oil tanks are clean inside and out, no rust, no dents, no leaks, and no previous internal coatings have ever been applied. Seat is excellent, no damage, and the foam is soft. Paint and chrome are very nice. The motorcycle was started and ridden for or miles on January 18, 2020, the day these photos were taken, and have added total of less than miles on it in the years I've owned it. nostalgic, well taken care of 49 year old Southern California machine that receives lot of attention anytime it is out in public.
I have the clear California title in my name, the registration is current on "non-operated" status and there are no outstanding fees. This sale will also include the original Yamaha Owner's manual, DT1E model advertising brochure, and tool kit.
