This is 1974 Norton Commando 850 with 2916 actual miles (as of this listing).It is true barn find that sat for years and have few photos that are available to the buyer.  I've had this ole girl running down the highway at 70 mph and she runs out good!  I have turned her into One Kick Wonder! To be specific, after or priming kicks to find that sweet compression spot, she really does fire after one good kick!I have rebuilt and restored dozens of old Beemers (old BMW airheads).  This was my first Norton.  So, in the process, have learned lot about this bike.  I've got the carbs cleaned, balanced and fuel circuits are true.  Settings are correct.  Points, plugs and timing are set.  The choke assembly is working great and all of this is of the utmost importance in making her fire right off the bat.  In the cold or warm weather, will be glad to educate the buyer on the proper starting procedure.  Those of you that know the Norton better than me need no explanation.  will help those that might not fully understand the bike, from the shift pattern to the "tickler" procedure.
I have tried to keep the bike as original and unrestored as possible.  The handlebars and headlight bucket are new as they give it better look.  have the originals and they will go with the bike.  New tires don both the front and rear, Dunlop Roadmaster TT100's.
Compression on the left cylinder tapped out at 142 psig.The right cylinder showed 143 psig.
You will notice from few of the pics that there is some pitting in areas, mainly some spots on the wheels.  The frame is not polished black new paint. cleaned her up where could and rubbed with oil to prevent any further corrosion. Much of the aluminum, stainless steel and other metal cleaned up well with lot of time, elbow grease and Flitz compound.
In another pic, you can see that the left battery cover has small hole rusted through.  I have clear Indiana title.  This is matching numbers Norton, 310979.  The title shows the VIN as F102943 which is on the head stamp.  left that be since it is historically correct.
