:“EXCELLENT fully restored to PARADE* condition. This vintage motorcycle was completely restored starting with frame alignment and paint, new wiring harness and engine rebuilt at 59,569 miles. Since the engine rebuild, about 5,000 additional miles were ridden. This is a 2 owner bike. Full maintenance and usage log recorded since 1990. * NOTE: This motorcycle is in immaculate show condition but is not in "Concours" condition. Many items such as the clutch plate cover, primary drive case, stator cover, starter cover, floorboards, bowls, and other items have been chromed. There is also an after market tachometer installed. These would result in point deductions at competitive Concours auto/motorcycle shows. That's why I listed it as parade ready. The chrome not only looks spectacular but it's also easier to keep clean but may detract from judges' scorecards. California Prop 65 Warning submitted ;-)”

For your consideration is owner, vintage 1978 Kawasaki KZ1000 C1 police motorcycle bearing VIN 0021. The motorcycle is PARADE ready. Pretty much all KZ1000 police bikes came after this Kawasaki factory sales rep bike. This motorcycle was used by the west coast sales rep to demonstrate the features of the KZ1000 motor and the advances over the short-lived KZ750 police model. It was purchased by Washington State motor officer and put into duty for escort service. The entire motorcycle was rebuilt, from the frame up, in mid-late 1990 with new paint on all surfaces. Only 5,000 miles were ridden on the bike since the motor rebuild. Total mileage is 64,821. Clear title. Original 1978 license plate. Please ask questions. try to answer all inquiries promptly.

Many items on the motor have been chromed (Primary case, clutch cover, stator cover, starter cover, bowls, etc). Since the chroming was not OEM, this may result in deductions in points during evaluation and scoring in "Concours" events. The after market tach can be easily removed.
EMERGENCY EQUIPMENT:   The motorcycle is sold with amber or red sealed beam flashers on the front and the rear Federal Signal Fireball rotating beacon removed. The blue sealed beam lamps and the blue domed FS Fireball will be packaged separately to avoid any violations of law. The front sealed beam lamps flash alternatingly. The Fireball beacon illuminates and rotates. Please see the last two pictures (#23 and #24) as they depict how the bike will be delivered to the winning bidder. 
It is illegal in many states and locales for non-law enforcement vehicles to display blue lights. It is the buyer's sole responsibility to know all applicable statutes regarding the display of red and blue lights and to operate this vehicle fully within the confines of the law.
The police radio is intact and can receive on three channels. The transmit crystals were removed and the radio cannot transmit. 
BIKE CONDITION: The siren is currently not working. Nor is the adjacent cigarette lighter power outlet in the left saddle bag. Possible fuse.Only the right horn is working. The left horn is not functioning but is receiving power.Rear tire tread is below minimums. Needs to be replaced. Front tire is still serviceable for non-pursuit driving.Small paint chips on top outer edge of right saddle bag lid. Best visible on the YouTube video (link above)Oil and filter change is due. New battery and spark plugs installed May, 2019

It is only $500 over the price paid for the bike 17 years ago in 2002.

SHIPPING:   The bike can be picked up business days AFTER the full clearance of the cashier's check. The winning bidder is responsible for local pick-up of the motorcycle. Please contact me if you are going to arrange for commercial vehicle hauler to transport the motorcycle. Most haulers with an enclosed trailer will transport motorcycle to most locales in the continental US for under $450, in most circumstances. The buyer is responsible for shipping insurance.
If you are INTERNATIONAL, please contact me and advise what your shipping preferences will be. You will be responsible for all shipping arraignments including, but not limited to, crating, delivery to port, export documents, and subsequent duties, value added taxes, insurance and export/import fees. If you are crating the motorcycle, may offer to remove the Lexan windscreen, mirrors and antenna and to turn the handle bars downward to reduce the possibility of damage while in transit. Upon your request, may provide some examples of shipping expeditors who specialize in international logistics and will deliver the crated motorcycle to major port near you. Since the bike is in the Greater Seattle region, there are MANY shipping companies in the Seattle/Tacoma region that will ship worldwide. Costs for international shipping will depend on many variables. Please contact me.

My apologies for forgetting one defect. The right speedometer cable is broken at the drive gear. The right "pursuit" speedometer is fully operational.
