 Hello folks, if you are looking for near perfect, pretty much museum quality standard goldwing than you would be hard pressed to find better one than this.
I bought this bike from the second owner and it had 4000 original miles and had sat in garage it's whole life, although it was pretty close to cosmetically perfect it needed it's mechanical systems gone through and the dealerships were way to expensive so he sold the bike to me...
After very thorough wash and inspection here is what was done....
New wheel bearings the orginal ones were perfect but dry so replaced them with new style timken sealed ones rather than repack and reuse)
New tires of course, all cables removed and lubed, rear diff cleaned and lubed with honda moly paste and thorough flush and fill with new gear oil
the original fork seals were shot and leaked down and ruined the front pads so all new fork seals in the front and the complete brake system replaced, new stainless steel lined lines front and back with new pads and fluid flushed, new sealed maintence free battery, charging system is perfect, irridium plugs,
new fuel lines and filter, rad was removed and flushed and cleaned and refilled with fresh anitfreeze, carbs were cleaned and checked and it starts perfectly and will idle at 1200 all day long once warmed, of course new timing belts, every lite works horns are loud even the turn signal cancel option works perfectly, the little purple Overdrive indicator lite also works, the air shocks work perfectly, am 6' tall and weigh 275lbs, and have put 3500 miles on the bike myself over two summers and the air shocks have NEVER been topped up since being filled last summer...... basically this bike needs nothing at all mechically done to it, YOU CAN START THIS BIKE AND RIDE IT ACROSS THE COUNTRY AND IT WILL NOT LET YOU DOWN... have owned many 83's they are my favorite early goldwing because they have NO stator issues, linked front and rear brake, and they are geared to give better mileage on the highway and this is by far the cleanest and tightest 83 have EVER been on..... just to make it more of tourer added the 1982 hondaline samsanite bags just because they are my favorite bags) and the period correct clear windsheild that works awesome.... if any buyer does not want the bags we can work down the price once bought because will gladly keep the bags they are impossible to find with the keys and in working order like these are..
So as of right now the bike has 7400 original miles but this will go up because ride the bike constantly on any day that is dry) as side note this bike has NEVER been wet, the previous owner told me that it was never caught in the rain, and neither has it been with me and only dry wash it with chemicals,,, also forgot to mention the exhaust and all chrome is excellent and the seat is pristine and comfortable....
JUST FOR FULL DISCLOSURE, the only negatives that see are .....1) the original owner back in the day decided to put some bling on so he put chrome valve covers on but they are mint perfect and easily replaced if so desired,,,2) there are some scratches on speedo lens from people over the years using their fingers to clean off the dust to look at the low mileage on the odometer, these can prob be buffed out but didn't want to make them worse as have never buffed plastic.....
otherwise all the paint is perfect and the bike rides extremely tight and feels great..if you have any questions or want to check it out just give me call, have ridden this bike 3500 miles in two summers and can personally vouch for how it feels..... nick...cell#...905-977-9436
also if you live close enough to come by feel free bring your helmet and lets go for ride, or have it inspected by neutral third party if you like this bike is pretty much pristine and dont think you will find better one that is absolutely ready to ride...
This is no reserve price auction because set the opening bid at the lowest price that would accept these bikes are very very hard to find in both this cosmetically perfect condition as well as mechanically done as well, then add in the Ultra low mileage and this bike will not only go up in value but it will be trouble free joy to ride while it makes you money in the long run....nick
