The first generation (Model Code 37F) appeared as “Weekend motocrosser” with 125cc ease of use and 250cc strength, and equipped with an exhaust system such as YPVS (Yamaha POWER VALVE SYSTEM) or YEIS (Yamaha ENERGY INDUCTION SYSTEM) The 195 cc water-cooled 2-stroke single-cylinder engine exhibited 30 ps. The link type monochromus suspension and aluminum swing arm are adopted to secure 210mm wheel travel, the dry weight is 99kg, the front brake is disk type, and the rear brake is drum type. The enduro race at the time showed overwhelming strength and became very popular.
