Selling my 1995 ktm lc4 sidecar outfit,  years ago when lived in europe always wanted motocross sidecar outfit but never got around to it. Then two years ago while on vacation in England bought used sidecar frame and had it shipped to virginia. then went looking for bike to attatch it to and ending up buying this ktm 620, it was ideal in that it has chain and sprockets on the opposite side to passenger, big torquey four stroke engine, and extremely well built. Original intention was to transfer the engine etc. into sidecar frame but it just wasnt going to fit, so ended up cutting the sidecar off of the original frame and attatching it to the ktm, later on this gave me the added benefit of being able to street register it. So whats it like? It is an absolute laugh to ride, but it does take some getting use too, can ride it on my own around the neighborhood  but only quite slowly, you have to have passenger to corner, there is no seat for the passenger they stand when going in straight line and eighter lean out of the sidecar or across the seat when cornering. (check out some youtube videos of motocross sidecar) although have built this for trail riding and not motocross. When my wife and first took it to west virginia trail riding we set off up some fairly aggresive trails and couldnt get on with it, we failed to make it up the first real hill we came too, so we went back to the campsite and practiced riding it around field for couple of hours, we found that her just moving couple of inches in the sidecar made world of differance to cornering, We then went and tried the trails again and this time we made it no problems, Be warned though this thing is blast to ride but you cant relax passenger and rider have to work together to get anywhere quickly. Obviously all my buddys have had turn in the sidecar and some get it and some dont. As for the bike itself its pretty much stock ktm,  have clear title for the bike although it says 400 on the title the engine is definatly 620, never worried about it as the 400 and 620 were excactly the same bike except for engine size. enquired at dmv about what to do with the title as far as adding the sidecar on and as far as virginia is concerned it doesnt matter, for virginia state inspection the sidecar doesnt matter, but know some states do, for example some states say that sidecar has to have an enclosed seat and seat belt, but not here, so if that matters you may want to check out your states law.  Bike runs great and always starts first or second kick, but please note bike is kick start only and is left hand kick start at that. There is nack to getting it right, once you have the hang of it she starts real easy but it does take some getting use too. had to move the lefthand radiator because of where the sidecar frame tube would go so left side radiator is bigger one now mounted in the front of sidecar, battery was moved from under seat to sidecar floor, Exaust silencer had to be moved to right hand side to get it away from passenger and left side plastics had to be cut for tubes hoses etc, other than that bike is pretty much stock. Sidecar is mostly as it was minus bike frame, some tubes had to be cut and moved, the only thing thats really differant is sidecar should have single sided swing arm on it, couldnt find one at the time so fabricated the swingarm you see on it now, this did have the benefit of being able to move the wheel backwards or forwrds little bit, aswell as being able to turn it in or out little bit. havent moved it but couple of times but have found that this greatly increased straight line stability.  As for problems or jobs left to do to it,  couple of months ago it wouldnt start one day, (no spark) bought brand new stater for it and secondhand coil and installed, still no spark, replaced the originals back on bike and checked all the wiring, still no spark, out of pure desperation tried towing it, within six feet it started and has never  failed to start  again since with the kick starter. couple of times the headlight and brake lights have refused to work, think this is down to the diode as each time have wiggled it about and they start working again, these are also the only items that work off the engine running, blinkers and horn work off battery and have always been ok, so there may be problem occuring there.   So bike is ready to ride as it is, can go straight in the garage and start it up right now and ride, but do think you have to be mechanicly inclined to own/ride this and its all part of the adventure. have been mechanic welder for fourty years now, so quality of work isnt to shabby, but its certainly not what you would get from factory.  am sure it will need its share of tinkering, and you could make better job of  mounting lights and brackets etc,  Its an absolute blast if you like an adventure and have buddy who is up for it,  have starting price at $2500 with no reserve, dread to think how much have into this with shipping costs etc. But bet its twice that. Obviousley its sold without warrenty but your more than welcome to come see it and try it before auction finishes. deposit via paypal and if you want it shipped thats fine as long as you arrange shipping.  Any questions please ask and happy trails
