1996 HARLEY-DAVIDSON FLSTN HERITAGE NOSTALIGIA OverviewThe 1996Harley-Davidson Softail Nostalgia (FLSTN), was produced in limited numbers from1993-1996 and then brought Harley-Davidson brought it back in 2005 as theDeluxe.  The FLSTN wasonly available in one color combination for each year (a different color comborepresenting each year). This 1996 is one of the 3,831 Heritage SoftailNostalgia’s produced that year and the color combo chosen for 1996 are PlatinumSilver Mystique Green. This HarleySoftail Heritage is real head turner wherever it goes. This factory custommotorcycle has lots of chrome to include the fork cover which is reminiscent ofthose Harleys of the 1950’s. EngineThe engine inthe 1996 FLSTN is 4-stroke 45-degree V-Twin. The engine has two valves percylinder and displacement volume of 1388.6 cc (81.6cu.in). The bore andstroke are 3.498 inches by 4.25 inches. This engine generates 67 horsepower at5,000 rpm and 78 foot-pounds of torque at 4,000 rpm, and has compressionratio of 8.5 to 1. The dry weight of the 1996 Heritage "Softail" is 638lb. It has power-to-weight ratio of .1050 hp per pound. It has manual5-speed transmission and is belt driven. Frame and SuspensionThe frame ofthe 1996 FLSTN is steel double cradle. The front cartridge suspension uses asingle disk brake which works to stop the front tire. The rear suspension usesa mono-shock swingarm, and also has disc brake. The 1996 FLSTN cancomfortably seat two persons. The front and rear Harley-Davidson Dunlop tires have less that 100 miles on them. Known IssuesA newspeedometer and harness was professionally installed by certifiedHarley-Davidson Technician. Although there is small dent on the front fenderthat is hardly noticeable and the paint is not chipped or cracked. There is a2” scratch on the front right side of the fuel tank.
