2009 HARLEY-DAVISDON XR12008,976 ORIGINAL MILES MIRAGE ORANGE VIN: 1HD1LA6159K428972 The Motor Company designed the original 2008 Harley-Davidson XR1200 as hot rod for the European market. It drew raves in Europe, and soon Americans were directing calls, letters, and rants to H-D headquarters in Milwaukee, asking why we in the U.S. were being deprived of Harley that actually handles! And in 2009, we got it. The overall condition of this machine is stunning, and completely original with no restoration ever taking place. As far as the motor, frame, etc., everything is extremely nice. Everything from the frame to the motor to the fenders are correct and stock, and except for the exhaust, just the way it left the factory. I believe am the third owner from new. This machine has been part of my collection for some time and is actually ridden, not just dusted. It is also stored in temperature controlled environment throughout the entire year. When purchased this motorcycle, it was in the condition you see in the photos. went through the entire machine, and started riding it occasionally. All of the major engine, transmission, and braking components are operational. The tires are in great condition but not brand new. ride it around town and haven’t had any issues, but if you buy the bike and would like me to install new tires, let me know and can get that done for you. Whatever my cost on the purchase and installation of the tires is, that's what you pay. The engine and transmission are obviously original to each other and are in perfect running condition. brand new battery was also just installed. The exhaust currently installed on the bike sounds fantastic and looks pretty good as well. stock exhaust for this bike runs about $300-350 on eBay, and are very easy to install, if you'd to change it. The paint on the tank, side covers, and tail section is in perfect condition, as you can see in the photos. The seat is perfect. The rest of the finishes are nearly new. The Harley on the road is very easy to handle, and rides down the road nice and tight. It shifts and accelerates smoothly and holds the road as it should. It’s great machine to ride and enjoy as well as something you can take to show. Again, there is absolutely nothing that needs to be done to this machine to ride, show, and enjoy it. I have motorcycle collection made up primarily of American, Italian, and Japanese motorcycles.
