Here we have something little different. When saw the V&H race bike at mid Ohio in the early '90's thought it would make great replica street bike. wanted to create the bike close enough to the real ow01 race bike that some people might think it's real. To that end everything was done for that reason. Example, the year. Only the '89 and '90 frame resemble the ow01 frame and has similar type bolt on subframe. finally located an '89 candidate and the build began. Bike was stripped to frame. bribed my wife to take her time and clean it nice. Swingarm is yzf750, ohlins shock with remote rezzy and hydraulic preload adjust, ride height, etc. Bodywork is airtech ow01 painted by bkd speed paint in Ottawa. That is all paint!! The only decals are on the screen and arm. R1 rear wheel, '03 R1 front end but with yzf750 front wheel (because it has drive for speed unit). Many items CNC'd by ATR such as the triples made to wsbk spec, rearsets, rear caliper carrier, instrument and fairing locator, license plate bracket (with ow01 inscribed in case someone behind you is wondering what this bike is). Hindle 4-2-1 exhaust with black ceramic coated pipes, just like the V&H bike. have new V&H exhaust nameplate badge in original package but will let new owner put that on. Engine was given leak down test and found to be healthy then was disassembled and rebuilt with all new gaskets/seals, new cam chain installed, cams degreed, and set up correctly on ATR dyno. This bike runs flawless and is strong. Stock power was 118 at rear wheel, this one approx. 140. With stock pistons, cams, and carbs! The ports were cleaned up when we were in there and it has individual air filters. For comparison the strongest stock carb'd R1 ('98-'01) made 129 on this dyno. Many parts powder coated such as wheels, battery box, subframe, side stand etc. Attention to detail even comes down to the functional fresh air intake through the tank. It was located, drilled, carbon tube welded both sides, ground with 1/2" ball nose, coated with caswell, painted. The list is near endless. This is my street ride but I'm still racer (finished 3rd in lwt points 2018). have not put 2000 miles on it since finishing it. love the bike but don't want to see it disintegrate from lack of use. It was built to be ridden so there are couple of blemishes. Oh, gauges are from '95 fzr1000 as the bike did not come with gauges, and the 94/95 have the correct temp gauge that show numbers, like ow01. Speedo shows 32,000 km, about 20,000 miles. ALL fluids fresh this spring. can help little with transport, can get it to either end of lake Ontario.
