Tax mot exempt 1973 super beetle.Been dry stored after an accident approximately 19 years ago,accident damage has never been fully repaired and as what usually happens parts have been lost from various storage moves,namely all drivers door interns is,rubbers,glass,windscreen,ignition key,rear 1/4 glass (1 in pic is near side pane).Engine was seized after so long standing and water ingress into cylinder so it was stripped for inspection,it needs crank reffing,a head,1 cylinder piston,bearings,gaskets,camshaft.It is 1641 engine and has twin carburettors,Webber Idf 44’s.Various chromed parts,distributor,dynamo,very nice solid tinwork,casings painted but paint is flaking off.I’m guessing it had been modified and built not long before it was damaged,the floor pan is solid and all painted grey,suspension components are either grey or Torquoise,it has wide fibreglass wheel arches,staggered alloy wheels which look like centrelines,could be but have not seen another set anywhere.Inside it has half cage,sunroof,hand built dashboard with various gauges,switches,Center console,tidy carpet set,rear seat has been panelled over,huntsman bucket seats harnesses,colour coded parts,full hand built wiring loom,3 spoke steering wheel,new old stock unpainted drivers door,has little surface rust but no rot.The car has lot of potential and good parts,I just don’t have the time for project this big.Anyone who knows these old beetles knows what they are looking at,it needs the damage repaired,a pillar and external door pillar Seams dressed up,rear 1/4 is rusty at the bottom,around where the wheelarch bolts on in places,below the 1/4 needs weld repair,front wheelarch needs replaced or big repair,rear wheelarch has been repaired and is not quite the same shape as the car so needs attention,parts for the door sourced,wiring loom gone through as have no idea of it works or not,engine needs rebuild,tyres,brakes checked.After doing text check it was cat write off in 2002 but VIC check is not required,repair costs exceeded pre accident value.Pre auction end viewing highly recommended,car is located near Arbroath on the east coast of Scotland,will obviously need trailered away.I have covered everything can think of so any further pics or reasonable questions please ask.
