Hi, welcome to my auction
Here is my wife's VW Polo SE TDi. Not perfect cosmetically but not bad to look at considering it is 16 years old now. Has bit of rust on the rear of one sill and one front indicator popped out and she put some selotape on to stop it coming out again!
On the way to pick the kids up from school today, she had problems getting it into gear and says they have been stiff for few weeks now. thought it might need some gear box oil or the clutch cable adjusting and it was supposed to be going in today as got my van back from there today but when spoke to the mechanic about it, he said it sounded like it might be gear linkage instead. Unfortunately, also discovered the MOT runs out in few weeks and can't afford to fix this knowing I'll have to stump up for an MOT too so soon.
We bought this last July and it has been great little car; fast for small diesel engine and really economical too and it hasn't given us any problems up until now. will leave in the double din head unit which has CD/DVD player (it also has GPS but can't seem to get it to work). Not top of the line unit but has been good to us overall. Doesn't pick up radio very well but nor does my van round here so might be geographical issue rather than the car or radio's fault; we always use USB anyway. The interior is in good condition considering the age and seem to remember the previous owner saying it was taken out of GTi but couldn't say for sure to be honest. It has GTi grill fitted but obviously isn't GTi so assume someone added this at some point. It will come with brand new set of wheel trims rather than those shown in the photos. Has electric windows and electric tilt slide sunroof. Wife has just informed the central locking is getting temperamental so might need new battery in the fob or could be something else entirely! I'll see if can find time to have look at this this week as only just been told; hopefully an easy fix.
I am listing this with no reserve. It has MOT and could potentially be driven away but offer no guarantee it will get you home now. have not driven it since my wife had the problems with it but did drive it about week ago and thought the gears seemed bit stiff but thought was imagining it as don't usually drive that car. Just borrowed it as my van was at the garage last week. The service light is on. don't know how long it has been on for as don't normally drive it as said. didn't notice it on when drove it last week but had my mind on other things and it may well have been on though my wife didn't know about it until mentioned it to her today. As for the MOT, don't know of any reason it would definitely fail though think the back box is blowing which would need patching up or replacing if so.
This has only gone wrong today and the exterior photos are couple of months old. I'll take some new photos once have changed the wheel trims and taken out the child seats and the kids' stuff and upload them ASAP but wanted to get the listing started so the buyer could potentially take it away while it still has MOT. have the V5 in my name. No warranty is given or implied

It doesn't want to go into any gear apart from reverse when the engine is running but with the engine off, it goes into all gears easily so looks like gearbox is ok at least. It can be put into gear and started and driven that way but once driving, you will be stuck in that gear. Didn't think to try pulling off in 4th but can definitely pull off in 3rd so could potentially drive home if not too far away but would still recommend towing/trailering it. spoke to friend who used to be mechanic and he said that it might be that the clutch cable needs adjusting but more likely to be the flywheel at fault. Having googled it, apparently it is not big job so hopefully cheap easy fix but obviously cannot guarantee this is what the problem is
