For sale is my 2003 Toyota Celica 1.8 VVT-i. have owned the car since March 2017 and despite the issues listed below the car has never broken down on me and always starts first time. have decided to sell as my new job is walking distance from home and we already have another car in the household.
Bodywork is in good condition for age (a couple of scrapes which have done my best to photograph)
Alloy wheels spare (Bubbling/flaking on one alloy as seen in picture this was originally the spare and as recall the alloy that is now the spare is in better condition)
Electrics appear to work well windows, mirrors, wipers etc
Issues*:
Car is burning oil and therefore the oil needs to be topped up every 500 miles or so (I am told due to worn piston ring(s))Sheared connecting pipe from exhaust mid-section to rear section (It’s connected OK but this was temporary fix by the mechanic at the time)Heat shield from above the back box came off recently (I still have this but could probably do with replacing)Previous MOT advisories slight yellowing to offside headlamp and corrosion to rear brake pipes and underneath the vehicle
*I am not mechanic and only repeating what was told at the time. The issues regarding the piston rings and exhaust were diagnosed summer 2017 and have driven the car regularly since.
Beside the issues above this has been great car to own and would make great project for anyone willing to spend some time and money on it. Because of the issues listed above it is being sold as seen for spares or repair.
