Purchased this last year when required an estate for work, spent lot of money on to make sure its reliable safe etc as needed reliable car for work, which this hasn't disappointed!
Good parts:
serviced 5k miles ago, fresh oil and oil filter, plus crank case breather (New vortex type).
New brake discs all round 4k miles ago
New brake pads all round 4k miles ago
New rear springs
New crank dampening pulley
New auxiliary belt tensioner
New auxiliary belt
New air con belt
New wiper blades
New headlight bulbs
Rear brake pipes replaced
Engine runs really well, turbo works as it should
Bad points:
The front drivers side lower ball joint need replacing (this has only just started making noise, but I've seen aftermarket ones on ebay for £100 for pair).
Needs new brake light bulbs
Needs new side light bulbs
Rear washer tube was leaking slightly, so disconnected the rear washer, haven't had the time to fix, but know the tube can be found on ebay for cheap.
A few rust spots developing around the car, but this car is 18 years old now.
Cloth interior could do with clean.
One of the speaker covers in the boot is cracked.
I've tried to remember everything and be as honest as can. It may seem like its high mileage but these M47 engines are very reliable and well service one will be good for hundreds of thousands of miles (I'ts the M47D20 version). All the brakes work brilliantly, the suspension is in very good condition (except the ball joint mentioned above), other than the couple of rust patches mentioned, the body work is in surprisingly good condition for its age, the radio and stereo works good, steering wheel controls all work, cruise control works well.
