Change of circumstances forces reluctant sale. Always liked the earlier cars, had an E28 M5 previously with similar miles, but this is better car, certainly better value!
This is an original E36 M3 Saloon, Avus Blue with Black leather.
Almost 150k miles, runs well and would be best seen as rolling restoration with current valid MOT, doesn't get lot of use.
The body is very solid but some cosmetic paintwork issues detract from condition.
Lacquer peel  most evident on boot, but also visible on top of front wings, door tops.  NsR wheel arch bubbling due to underlying metal corrosion visible.   Small scuffs to front splitter.  Driver's door mirror is standard E36, in different blue. so not proper M3 type, in reality this makes car safer as decent size.  Passenger side mirror not genuine M3, so was going to source genuine electric pair and get painted up when did rest of paint.  was quoted £1k to get this body and paintwork done to good standard.
Structurally very sound, largely kept indoors by previous owners and by myself until lost storage space last month.
Mechanically the car pulls well, Vanos rebuilt by Hack engineering last year using genuine BMW parts, receipt supplied.Grumbling of rear diff on slow speed corners round car park when cold.  Diff oil clean, up to level and  all ok when run on ramps.
Nice condition genuine alloy wheels with matching Avons more than 6mm tread. keys, but only master operates ignition.
Slight leak of Pas pump as only advisory on last years test certificate.
Stamped service book in wallet and supplement.  18 Stamped services to 143k in 2003, so very lightly used latterly.
Rebuilt brake calipers front and rear as was having sticking problems from lack of use.
Interior shows some wear to drivers seat bolster, period Alpine head unit, cassette/cd in boot/radio and Nokia phone, including handset. Headlining detatched in isolated spots near edge. Cracked hazard warning button, loose rear door storage bins, slow passenger window regulator. Slide and tilt roof works well.  Passenger aftermarket M3  copy mirror does not control electrically from cockpit.
A genuine M3 saloon that represents good value with an opportunity to improve it's cosmetic appeal for not too much money.  These are almost the last gasp of normally aspirated rear wheel drive, manual with LSD fast saloons, with sufficient grunt, no driver aids and lot simpler and lighter than the modern equivalent.
Social distancing will need to be observed, no test pilots without valid proof of insurance.  This is an honest car from an honest seller, at price that reflects the car's condition and the need to generate funds relatively quickly.  No Pay pal, bank transfer only.
