Welcome to the saleof my lovely Mondeo.
I bought the car inApril as stop gap, I’ve since bought replacement so it’s nowsurplus to requirements. needed to get car quite quickly and thiswas by far the best that could find at the time for my budget.
It’s local twoowner (prior to me) car with full service history, ithas 14 stamps in the service book. The previous owner bought it froma small local garage as three year old car and ran it for the nexteleven years, servicing it annually. Itwas serviced just before Ibought it so unless you do mega miles it won’t need to be doneuntil next spring.
It’sclearly been well looked after, it starts on the button, runsperfectly with no untoward noises and it doesn't use any oil orwater.
Thetyres were tired so I’vehave replaced themwith good Uniroyals allaround but the o/s/r caliper is bit weepy, replacing the caliperisn’t an expensivejob though.
Thebodywork is in great shape for 14 year old car, again as resultof the previous owner looking after it.
Otherthan the air conditioning everything works, it’s light, quiet, comfortable car to drive. It’s good on fuel as well – Iget 38 mpg with local running around, 45on run.
I’vedone couple of jobs while I’ve had it. It developed misfire soI replaced the plugs, and leads which were coming to the end of theirlife, then fitted new coil pack (good quality, not chap Chinesething from bay). Also the gear change wasn’t brilliant (acommon Mondeo issue apparently)so changed the gear oil for Castrol Syntranswhich has made vast improvement although very occasionally itdoes still once in while gostiff when the car isrunning from cold and the oil hasn’t circulated around the gearbox.Selecting fifth and then back into first cures it so its no problem.
It’sa great budget family car with huge boot that will serve someonefor many years to come. Parts are cheap and easy to get and the roadtax and insurance group aren't expensive.
Ithas MOT until 20thMarch 2020.
Anyquestions, just message me and I’ll get back to you as soon aspossible.
