Selling my golf which I've had for two years. It's occasionally displaying an immobiliser fault and sometimes refusing to start. I'm told it's the coil around the steering column at fault. Hence spares or repairs. Started to get bit 50/50 whether it starts or not so its going.

Might be of use to someone who can fix it, needs donor engine or wants scrappage scheme trade in

Good points:
Engine is good, had the cambelt, tensioners and water pump done 10k ago. Gives 55/60mpg on my daily run to work.
New discs and rear calipers at the same time.
Santa Monica 17" wheels with useable tyres
Until the intermittent immobiliser fault it was supremely reliable.

Bad points:

Gear linkage is sloppy so occasionally crunches gearchanges
Scruffy paint, few bits of rust

Starting price is the scrap value which is where its going if it doesn't sell
