Hello and welcome to this auction for my Passat.
The good:In the last year it's covered about 8000miles and it's had:
Tyres x4Clutch/Dual mass flywheelFront brake Discs, Pads and Caliper on the drivers sidePassenger side CV JointWipers x3BatteryStarter Motor
It was great drive, lots of power and very comfortable, interior is in good condition
The not so good:
The timing belt kit was replaced but unbeknown to us the stud that the tensioner sits over had been previously glued in, when the new tensioner nut was tightened that must have disturbed the stud very slightly and so within days of the new belt being fitted the tensioner and stud worked loose and let go, causing chaos to the engine.
Once the stud issue was discovered it was decided that we'd get another stud, fit with some chem metal and just see if the engine would run, if it did we'd then get the head off and have new threads etc tapped and carry on, counting our blessings!
The engine did run but not at all well, very little power and lots of black smoke, it's definitely got bent valves, I've not had the top off it to see what else but I'd say the least it'll need is top end rebuild if not second hand head dropping on.  In the short time the engine ran the belt worked loose again and that's how we left it, it currently won't run.  It spins over and then after about 20 seconds comes up 'low oil pressure' but guess that's because it's not seeing the engine actually start.  I've had none of the oil pump issues you hear about with these B6's and the engine ran incredibly well until the belt issue. The engine under tray/wheel arch liner is in the boot along with the locking wheel nuts etc.
We thought long and hard about rebuilding it, there's very little else wrong with it (apart from nasty scratch on the passenger side rear door see photo) and although I'm not an MoT tester know there is very good chance it'd go straight through the next MoT.  I decided I'd give it go, that was until my kids decided to climb over it one day last week and cracked the windscreen! 😕
To be honest I'm gutted, we spent good money buying it and did some repairs to make it really last now think it's just bridge too far for us to repair, our seater needs some bodywork doing so any funds we get here will go towards that and I'll pick up another car to use as second sometime in the future.
So there it is, no reserve, no buy it now, just straight through auction.  You're welcome to come and view it if you like, just message me and it can be arranged, I'm in the MK4 area of Milton Keynes.
It will need towing/trailering away, the price you bid is the price you pay no arguments! Check out my feedback, it's as honest description as can give it, it'll do someone good turn either rebuilt or broken up for spares, there's £50 worth of diesel in it too!
I expect contact to be made by the winning bidder within 24hrs and then collected within days. I'm not worried about deposit, cash on collection is preferred but if you want to pay by other means message me privately.  If it doesn't go on here it'll get scrapped as I'm fed up looking at it.
Happy Bidding!
