I have included the description supplied by the liar purchased the car from in June this year. Some of it is true.
The car has long service history. Entirely with the original owner.
The replacement clutch and all the components were fitted for the original owner, but had an intermittent fault, not detected during my test drive. The installer refused to honour the warranty, as the vehicle had changed hands. During brief and sickening phone call, the mechanic also asked where purchased the Passat. He had instructed the original owner to get rid of the vehicle, due to worn camshaft.
Passat changes hands in April this year, is owned for month then sold to me, along with cock and bull story! Seems sound purchase. Clutch fault becomes apparent. Engine starts to lose coolant on long runs, blowing out somewhere. Two separate mechanics confirm the head has been off and work has been done badly. Advise me to cut my losses. Clutch fails. Car now runs but no longer drives.
No electrical faults, good brakes, tyres, tidy inside and out, tow ball.Worth fixing if you know your VWs.
Please don't waste my time, this car has caused enough grief as it is.
