1978 Honda XL250s Classic Restoration Project Engine Running well With V5
I have had this fantastic bike for 14 years. 
I had her on the road briefly back in 2002 or 2003. then got into sports bikes.
I have used it very little primarily teaching friends and family to ride. 
It's such an easy and forgiving bike and has been pleasure to ride always.
It has been hugely reliable to the point where it has blown my dad and away after always starting 3rd or 4th kick having stood for possibly years straight in lean to.........same fuel.....! (I have subsequently drained that out and put fresh)
I did take some of the road gear off like tail light and indicators. We are trying to locate the box with them in but are struggling    ;-(
I did replace the cam chain and tensioner and piston and rings maybe 2004 as she was getting little rattly up top. She now sounds just right.
I had every intention of restoring it to mint but too many other projects have superseded this one.
When collected her from my parents years ago noticed lot of cracking in the front wheel rim and thought that was good place to start with the restoration. had the cracks welded but I'm not convinced the repairs are safe. Please look at the images of one. There were many points where the welder had to go. think it needs to be replace after all that now. 
Today she did not hesitate to fire up.......Smiles all round
Unfortunately the time spent in mum and dad's lean to has taken it's toll.
It will ride and all gears select but the drive chain and sprockets are knackered and are clunky so don't want to ride it properly.
Please look carefully at the bike and be sure you want it. 
It's breaking my heart letting it go but have bigger commitments elsewhere now and need the space    ;-(
I have the V5 document. 
I have trailer and might be persuaded to deliver for price locally.
Unless someone offers me ridiculous price would like to let this run as an auction so everyone has fair crack at it. I'm aware these bikes are becoming collectable and are popular at the moment and for good reason. It's also quite fun to watch the bidding.
No reserve either   ;-)
