For Sale is beautiful 1979 Honda CB900 Cafe Racer.
Bought few years ago to satisfy "a need" to have retro ride and project to work on, but, as is always the case, it ended up not being ridden for the first years of ownership.Then, last summer decided it was time to sort it out, and so she was prepped for me to take part in the London DGR in September (Distinguished Gentlemens Ride). Since acquisition (in November 2013), she has travelled the sum total of 202 miles all of it in one day.
When i bought the bike some of the work/conversion to Cafe Racer had already been done (CB600 fork swap, wheel swap, braided brake lines, rear seat yes that is the extend of the seat padding! etc), but it needed some further love so have installed the following:
Wonderfully professionally painted CB900 fuel tank, and chromed fuel cap.New rear shocksHidden electrics with Lithium Battery installed under the rear hump.Cleaned Cockpit with New headlight (ignition switch in in top of headlight), speedo offset to cylinder head and custom Cognito Moto top yoke.Rear tail loop welded on under the seat (so could be made into "brat" racer with new seat pan)
On the not so positive side, the bike is 38 years old (only had previous keepers) and bits of age are starting to show: the forks are pitted, the black engine and frame paint is peeling in places (esp on the head) and it could do with tyres, new chain and new nuts/bolts all-round (as many are rusty).
She was MOT'ed in September 2016 (the day before the ride!) and comes with the remainder of year.
She is complete and usable as is, or could be easily stripped down, powder coated and reassembled for something really special.
