This very much sought after 1979 Yamaha XS650F has recently been imported from North America where it has spent all its life – the air is thin and the climate is far kinder to motorcycles than ours. This and the fact it's only showing 15331 miles and has been in dry storage for the last umpteen years have helped maintain its boyish good looks.

The single most important purchase for classic restoration project is the bike to restore, whether it's going to be commercial venture or just hobby interest it all starts here!.

PLEASE CHECKOUT THE PICTURES........As you can see this bike is complete but has few non std parts....Seat silencers. It has obviously stood while so the battery is flat, paintwork is faded, rear master cylinder isn't working. Sadly the headlight rim speedo are scuffed.

BUT NOW FOR THE GOOD NEWS.........The wheels are straight with nice clean alloy, good disc, caliper working master cylinder. Forks yokes look straight. Mudguards are both solid. Tail light assy is good. Carburetors are free sliding off the twist grip. Paintwork is slightly faded but solid, fuel tank is usably clean inside. Chain guard is tidy. Shock absorbers are damping fine. The engine is cosmetically clean, it turns over nicely off the kick starter – sounds/feels great has compression – When we hooked it up to good battery fed it few squirts of ether it fires tries to start run but it,s obvious the carbs need attention.
