Excellent Condition Restored Cafe Racer
For sale is my 1982 CB750F with the low starting bid of £1,900. This is an exceptional bike, having been through full rebuild with less than 400 ridden miles since. The bike has just 28,162 miles on the clock and is ready for new owner to ride or continue the build. am currently reluctantly selling only as have decided to change direction on my next CB project.
Pros:Full rebuild of the bike by the previous owner to exceptional condition with less than 400 miles since.MOT until June 2017 (no advisories)I have switched the carbs on the bike to set of professionally cleaned (inside and out) carbs from another CB750, which have then jetted and upgraded the needles using DynoJet Stage kit (all original needles, jets and new DynoJet spares are included, along with original box and receipts). I have installed brand new K&N Genuine Pod Filters and breather to compliment the jet upgrade, all of which have covered zero miles – just test starts in the garage (original airbox included should you wish to revert back – receipts and original boxes included)Previous owner’s rebuild included:Powdered coated frame and swing armResprayed in redNew tyres and refurbished wheelsNew cam chainCalipers refurbished new front and rear master cylinders and new brake padsNew batteryCarburetor service kit fitted. New air filter. Oil and filter changed.New plugs and HT leads fitted. New chain.Bike also comes with box of spares that includesDynoJet kit and spare needles/jets – per above. All the original engine coversOriginal IndicatorsOriginal MirrorsOriginal Airbox and fittingsSpare Clutch basketReceipts for purchases since have owned the bike
Cons:Since swapping the carbs over have not had chance to get the carbs balanced and tuned, so the bike is running rough and does stutter/gap when revving. With the DynoJet kit installed to compensate for the pod filters, this should be able to be addressed with simple balance and tune. However, the original airbox and jets will allow the new owner to switch back to stock if they prefer not to go own the pods path. This may make the bike challenge to ride away, so combined with the spares box to be carried, recommend that the new owner organises transport. The clutch currently rattles when idling and clutch is not engaged (a common problem for this model). This is due to pins loosening over time within the clutch basket. However, per the spares list above, new clutch basket is included and just needs to be fitted by the new owner to easily and cheaply solve this problem.
This really is an exceptional example of the Honda classic – am continually impressed by the quality of the restoration. am only selling as am moving on to CB750 SOHC project. The bike has been stored in dry, undercover secure carpark with dust cover over it since have owned it.
Cash or bank transfer on pick-up is acceptable – funds to clear before you ride/transport away. If transporting, organising courier/trailering is the responsibility of the new owner.
