Here is your chance to own an absolute modern classic of motorcycle an genuine original 1992 Honda FireBlade CBR900RR-N in stunning black and silver. This is very early example (first registered 01/08/1992) of the motorcycle that didn't just change the book on super sports bikes they had to write new book. It took years for the competition to catch up in the form of the Yamaha R1. Everything out there today started here folks...
My Blade is 27 years old and is still jaw dropping motorcycle. It is now eligible to enter into motorcycle shows as Modern Classic but this bike deserves to be ridden, not collecting dust... most of these original Blades wound up being wrecked, dropped and "street fightered" or used as track bikes. Very few of them have survived intact as Baba-san intended and they are now collectable. These days, mint showroom-condition example of one of these will set you back £8k or more... and they are only going up in price. But don't take my word for it, check out MCNs view (from 2014) here:

So, what are you looking at here?
I became the third owner of this Blade when got it 20 years ago, more or less to the day. got her from Orwell Motorcycles in Ipswich and traded in my Suzuki GSX600 to get my hands on her. Since then it has been my pride and joy and have loved every minute of owning it. I had period when the bike was laid up and SORN for about three years but she was put back on the road in 2009 with full "back to use" service at Lings Ipswich and has been in use ever since, although will be the first to admit have not been piling on the miles...  The Blade has never missed beat on the road, and is absolutely the bees knees in terms of build and reliability.  It is beautiful to ride fast, responsive, nimble, handles like it is stuck to the road and oh man that engine. Below 6k rpm its pussy cat, above 6k it wants to rip your head off. And it turns heads wherever you go, even to this day. The engine is super smooth and lives up to the legendary Honda Fireblade standard (it ain't run in til its done 40,000 miles...). It starts on the button with minimal choke (yes, manual choke remember them?!?!?!) and soon settles into its sewing machine idle. It has done few wet miles and little winter riding but when not in use it has either been kept in garage or under cover in car port.
It is bog standard apart from:a hugger fitted to the rear wheel in 1997 (keeps the muck out of the suspension!)a grab rail in 1997 (keeps the wife on board!) front fork stantions replaced by Lings 2009 due to corrosion in emergency braking area (pattern parts used).
A second hand original Honda black end can added in 2015 as the original matt silver one failed internallya new set of downpipes and collector box fitted in 2017 (non-Honda as they don't make them any more)
The bike has been loved and maintained, mainly through the local Honda dealership (Lings, Ipswich) for MoTs, services and work when needed. It has always passed MoTs and if any work needed doing to pass an MoT, Lings did it on the spot. The last time around it only had advisories for front and rear tyres both of which have been replaced and have barely done 400 miles since. have also recently had new Honda gasket sets fitted to all four carbs (one carb had started to weeping fuel so did them all and set the carbs up at the same time) and the rear wheel bearing needed replacing. Oh, and the chain needed lube (done!).  All of the receipts for anything ever done are here and go with the bike, along with old MoT certs, the original Datatag documentation and the owner's service book even got the original owner's card! This shows that the Blade was originally supplied by Davey Brothers in Ipswich and has been owned locally ever since. The bike (to my knowledge at least) has never been on race track. And hopefully never will...
OK the bad bits. There aren't many at all but in the interests of honesty here we go:  Its 27 years old and has had more or less continuous road use so there are stone chips, minor scratches and pitting in some of the alloy parts. Be clear, it is not showroom condition. Some of the engine paint has come off and the chain will need replacing one day (but not soon I'm told). The some of the enamel on the rear wheel has flaked away as water must have got in through stone chip at some point. The original owner fitted tank protector patches which are still on there but couple have worn away this just adds to the charm and could probably be removed and/or replaced if so desired. That's everything negative know of.
The bonus bits: The bike will come with the front and rear paddock stands as shown as well as the official Honda lightweight cover.
MoT is valid until 25th September 2019 and interested parties are more than welcome to view her, see her running and (if you bring your gear) I'll take you out for demo ride if you are happy to come on the back. Sorry, no solo test rides. Feel free to call me on 07739 600265 to arrange viewing etc.
So, finally, why am selling my beloved Blade? Well, don't really want to if could I'd keep her would. But motorcycles need to be ridden and over 27 years my back, wrists and neck have faired worse than the Blade did so decided that if was going to keep riding wanted to do more miles and do them in comfort.  I'm getting too blooming old for full on sports bike. finally got seduced away by VFR800F (yes, still Honda, still legend of motorcycle, full luggage and HEATED HANDLEGRIPS!!!!). So with the VFR around the Blade will just sit here and rot I'd rather she goes to someone who will love her and ride her for many more years to come.
Good luck!
