This is custom build BMW K1100 RT with both cafe racer and scrambler/flat tracker influences.
There some really nice touches and lots of hours spent making this great and reliable bike to own as well as the talk of any bike meet.
To list just some off the things that set this bike apart from the standard custom bike options available it has clip on bars, bar end mirrors, adjustable 'shorty' levers, stubby exhaust cans, new digital clocks, cafe racer headlight and knobby tyres to complete the look.
The wheels have been professionally powder coated and the petrol tank has beautiful and genuinely head turning paint job which always draws attention.
It has custom made seat unit and side panels both of which have hand stitched detailing. The seat is straight lined pattern with edging while the side panels are diamond stitched which really compliment the bike while still providing access to components like the fuse box or expansion tank if necessary.
The engine has been well looked after and these bikes are known for doing well over 100,000 miles and as they are shaft drive bike there is no maintenance of chains or sprockets to worry about or have to replace. The instant torque the shaft drive style gives really sets this bike apart and gives you that thrill seeker feeling with the stylish looks everyone wants when riding.
The bike has been lovingly reinvented and it is mechanically sound as well having had all of the telling things replaced like the water pump gaskets, rocker cover gaskets, internals checked and tolerances adjusted as necessary.
It had braided lines that were custom made for the bike as these are far superior to rubber brake and clutch hoses and the custom ones are far better than the likes of Hel or other brands as these ones are cut to length and fitted to bike as they are being made so are perfect fit and compliment the bike perfectly.
It has also been fully converted to have indicators in the more Japanese (and usual style of riding) whereby they are all under your left thumb. For those that don't know BMW motorbikes this era had each indicator on each side of the handlebar controls with the left indicator not he left side and the right indicator on the right side so it is very strange to get used to if you are normally accustomed to the more popular one sided operation.
This has been completed by completely replacing the original controls and painstakingly wiring them to new controls with all of the commonly used switches in the regular place. This isn't something that people do unless they know what they are doing and this was undertaken by highly experienced mechanic and electrical engineer.
The exhaust has been wrapped which adds to the overall look of the bike and the stubby end can really finishes off the look.
It has gators on the front forks adding to the look as well as indicators mounted inside the frame tubing to the rear and sleek rear light/brake light unit to finish off the rear end of the bike.
It starts perfectly every time and the original air box has been left on as it is tempting to remove it and convert to cone filters however on these bikes they benefit from someone knowing when to leave certain factory parts on the bike and make it aesthetically pleasing by working with the natural shapes and converting the parts that can be done without compromising the reliability of the engine.
It has 12 months MOT on it and is genuine ride away bike with countless miles left on it and lots of fun to be had. People have also said that it would make really nice show piece for someone with the room in their house so any one is welcome to use it as they please.
For obvious reasons test rides will only be given if have the full amount of money in my hand and waver is singed to say that if you crash it then you have bought it and there will bet no refunds on the agreed sale price. This is fairly standard nowadays as these are powerful bikes and it is important for everyone to covered should something happen.
It is an reg 1994 bike with around 90k miles on it but the restoration and refurbishment of it means that this number is now little irrelevant as it has had new lease of life and so many parts replaced it is difficult to compare.
No tyre kickers need apply as this is custom built bike that people will understand the value of and therefore won't be accepting part exchanges. This is priced for sale and would like it to go to good home where someone can either put some serious miles on it or showcase it on bike nights or at home.
Thank you for looking and will answer any questions you may have.
