I am selling the bike for good friend of mine who loved the R1100RT but has now bought bike with lower seat height that is easier for him to manage. have kept the new battery charged by testing the bike out on regular 25 mile commute over the past few weeks. have had no issues with the bike apart from slow idling. read up on this and found that this issue is usually due to dirt in the throttle bodies. have now cleaned them up (and replaced one that had the air screw jammed). also balanced the throttles and the bike now idles nicely and runs very smoothly it will quite happily pull top gear at 30mph and doesn't really feel it's weight in traffic. The V5 is in his name and he will be present for the sale so no issues there. There are plenty of receipts, original sale documents etc. with the bike. The last service was at 16373 miles with engine and rear drive oils changed.
So there we have it. We did think of storing the bike and selling in the springtime to get better price but decided we each better use the garage space so it has to go. This means that the buyer will likely get bargain! can supply battery conditioner that can be plugged into the bike to keep it all ready to go in case you did want to put it away for while or use it infrequently. It should make really nice winter commuter or tourer with plenty of wear left. It doesn't use drop of oil as far as can tell: plenty of life left in the old beast yet!
Thanks for looking.
